Fall Festival

Enjoy a night filled with spooky games and tasty treats! A fun festival with various crafts and activities. Come out and get ready for Halloween! The 2025 Fall Festival will consist of your favorites: Hayrides, moon bounces, petting zoo, activities, costume contest, donut eating contest, and many more of your favorites! If you would like a paper form, please contacts the Parks and Recreation Department, parksrec@quakertown.org Children activity wristbands will be sold for $5 before the event. The children activity wristbands can be purchase ahead of time on Eventbrite or at Quakertown Borough Hall. The wristbands will allow unlimited access to the hayride, trunk or treat, games and activities, and moon bounces. Adults are free admission with a child. All proceeds benefit the Quakertown Borough Parks & Recreation Department's free programs and events that they offer to the community throughout the year including the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Movie in the Park, etc.

Bring the kids and let their creativity shine as they decorate their very own pumpkins. From spooky designs to cute and colorful creations, there’s no limit to what they can create! But that’s not all! Get ready to build your very own scarecrow. Bring your old clothes, and some imagination to bring your scarecrow to life. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the fall season! This event is all about having a great time with your kids, so don’t worry about any mess or spills. We’ll provide all the necessary materials, so you can focus on making memories together. SEE BELOW.   Pumpkin Painting Highlights: • Gasper artists will be on hand to assist children in painting their pumpkins. • Cover charge: $10.00 per child (includes 1 pumpkin, paint, and decorations) Scarecrow Making: • Bring your old cast-off clothing, and we’ll provide the straw, twine, and safety pins to design your scarecrow. • Cover Charge: $8.00 per scarecrow • Scarecrow Stakes – SMALL $5.00 each / LARGE $6.00 each • Hats for Scarecrows – $6.00 each All workshops and events are rain or shine. Please come dressed to work in our greenhouse. We recommend layers and sturdy shoes with covered toes.

The Daniel Boone Homestead Associates are excited to celebrate the arrival of fall with the Homestead’s annual Heritage Day event. In conjunction with this event, we are thrilled to be partnering with the Exeter Friends Meetinghouse for open house tours to commemorate their 300th anniversary. Heritage Day features a variety of colonial and early American demonstrations, trades, and hands-on activities. The ever-popular colonial musician Bob Mouland will be returning this year, and we are excited to be hosting Stone House History. Their skilled interpreters will demonstrate tape weaving and wood carving. Heritage Day also features craft and specialty food vendors as well as fall activities for children like pumpkin painting. In the Boone House, volunteers will be cooking a hearty meal over the hearth, while Bob Mouland treats guests to colonial music in the English parlor. Visitors can also tour the Boone House and spring cellar and learn about the three families who lived there during the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Throughout the historic area, visitors can learn about the intricate work of a leatherworker, the detailed work of a gunsmith, and the skillful work of a blacksmith. Make sure to visit the Apothecary presentation featuring a display of period medical instruments and learn about the role of the doctor and surgeon during the eighteenth century. Stop by the colonial fur trader and trapper and learn about the ways European settlers used animal hides and pelts. Volunteers will also be demonstrating basket making and various textile arts including wool dyeing and spinning. And don’t forget a visit to the unique, three-room Bertolet Log House, a prime example of early Germanic architecture. In addition to demonstrations and trades, there will be a variety of eighteenth-century hands-on activities for children and adults to enjoy including candle dipping, quill pen writing, and colonial toys and games. Make sure to plan a visit to the Exeter Friends Meetinghouse on your way to or from the Homestead and enjoy their open house. The Exeter Friends Meeting was originally established in 1725 as Oley Meeting and later changed its name to Exeter in 1742. It is where the Quaker Boone family would have attended monthly meeting. The original log structure that was frequented by the Boones was replaced by the current stone structure in 1759. The Meetinghouse will be open throughout the afternoon and is located a little over two miles from the Homestead at 191 Meetinghouse Road, Douglassville, PA 19518. Admission: Adults $12.00, Seniors (65+) $10.00, Youth (6-17) $5.00. Children 5 and under and DBHA members are free. Please, no pets (except service animals) and no smoking. The event is presented and funded by The Daniel Boone Homestead Associates.
