Bring the entire family to The Nature Place for a fun-filled aternoon of nature, wildlife, and outdoor adventure! During the Raptor Egg Hunt, kids will hunt for camouflaged "raptor eggs" hidden across the Nature Play Zone - each one filled with candy and stickers for a wild surprise. Then meet real raptors up close during an exciting LIVE bird show, presented by the John James Audubon Center. As the sun sets on this memorable day, we'll keep the good times going with a cozy campfire, complete with hot dogs and s'mores! Please note, end times are approximate. You pack the lunch, and we'll take care of the rest! Best for children aged 6+. Please pack a lunch and prepare your child appropriately for the outdoors and weather. They crawl, fly, march, dig, and wiggle..and love them or hate them, our world needs bugs! On this creepy crawly adventure, Nature Explorers will search on land and in the water for insects and other macroinvertebrates, learning the valuable role of these misunderstood animals along the way. Armed with nets, magnifiers, and identification guides, we’ll become full-fledged bug biologists! Scholarships are available! We believe nature should be accessible and welcoming to all. With the support of our donors, Berks Nature is able to offer scholarships to children hoping to participate in the Nature Explorers program that would otherwise be financially unable to. Budding scientists and artists of all ages, bring your curiosity and get hands-on with nature! Participants will rotate through five “maker stations” to paint rocks, dissect owl pellets, customize a reusable canvas tote bag, mold wildflower seed bombs, and create pinecone bird feeders. Inspiration will flow as we learn about local wildlife, plant life cycles, and sustainable choices while making up to five take home art projects.
