“You don’t even know what afraid is.” We’re hosting a series of special drive-in movie screenings in the Zoo’s parking lot! Our August Drive-In Zoovie is Jumanji (1995). Tickets are required for each guest (adult and child) attending. The parking lot will be open at 7 PM, and the film will begin at 8 PM. Our drive-in screenings are held in the former softball field section of the Zoo’s parking lot. Concessions will be available for purchase during the film. In the event of inclement weather, all ticket holders will be notified if a screening is canceled or rescheduled 2 weeks prior to the event. The radio station frequency broadcasting the film’s audio to cars will be provided to ticket holders in advance of the event.

Help educators kick off the start of fall migration for the beautiful and endangered Monarch butterfly! Get a first-hand look at the different life stages of this insect, and learn about their incredible migration journey, and get a chance to provide a butterfly habitat in your own neighborhood by bringing home a host plant of your own! Our 60th Annual Duryea Day Antique & Classic Car & Truck Show and Flea Market will be held Saturday, September 5, from 9 am to 3 pm at Boyertown Community Park. Hundreds of vehicles will be on display throughout the park, and shuttle service is available between the Park and Museum through the duration of the event. Pre-registration and day of show registration for show vehicles available—all makes, models, and years are welcome. Spectator admission is $10 for adults, free for ages 12 & under. Preschool Picassos Calling all parents and caregivers with preschool-aged children who love to create art! Happening the first Saturday of every month, Preschool Picassos provides young visitors with a unique art experience when we teach children various science-based techniques with their caregivers. Butterflies get all the attention, whereas the moths of the night are just as beautiful and whimsical as their daytime cousins! In this after dark adventure, we'll setup a moth observation station to provide a rare chance to meet these nocturnal beauties up close. As the moths gather, we'll take a closer look at the different species and demonstrate how to identify and observe these delicate insects in a safe and respectful way. Throughout the night, join in discussions about light pollution and the impacts our brightly lit homes can impact moth behavior, navigation, and survival. Expressive Path’s Annual Art in the Park, Arts & Music Festival will be on September 12, 2026 inside the zoo! Guests can enjoy live music, vendors, food, animal greets, student performances and art for the community. Zoo Brew Beer Garden will be open for guests 21+. This event is free to attend with zoo admission. Norristown residents (19401) can attend Art in the Park from 10 AM-4 PM for free – registration is required. This event benefits a local organization, Expressive Path. “Expressive Path’s primary goal is helping adolescents who may otherwise not have the opportunity to participate in the arts. They promote diversity, cultural interests, education, and community enrichment.
Drop in and discover a variety of nature-themed activities the entire family will enjoy. Discovery Day is a family-friendly, free event where young explorers, ages 3 – 12, learn about magnificent migrations though self-guided activities and explorations. Children and guardians are invited go on a self-guided nature scavenger hunt using our monthly-themed check list or simply enjoy the trails.
