Family-friendly Fall destination worth the drive!

We visited Roba Family Farms (200 Cranston Ave N. Abington Township, PA 18414) for a day of Fall Fun and ended our night at Lakeland Orchard & Cidery (1649 Lakeland Drive, Scott Township, PA 18433), both spots are just 15 minute drives from each other and I am going to let you know everything you need to know before you go!

Day passes at Roba Family Farms is free for ages 2 and younger or $24.95/pp when purchased online. But you can save by visiting on a discount day (Wednesday, Thursday or Holiday Monday) for $15.95/pp (Not all attractions and shows are available during Discount Days).

Admission includes over 30 activities, The Glowing Pumpkin Trail (open every night of operation at sunset) and Live shows!

Some activities are the Roba’s Mega Maze, Farm Animal Center, Low Ropes Grove, Rock Mountain Slides, Jumping Pillows, OK Corral, Face Painting, and much more.

Daily shows include: K9’s in Flight Dog Show, Hillbilly Pig Races, The Roba Candy Cannon, and Festival exclusives at The Great Pumpkin Stage

The best way to see everything is grabbing a map or taking the hayride first, it will give you a much better idea of everything you can do to help plan your day. If you have a Dino fan, they will LOVE the pumpkin patch which has some pretty cool animatronic dinos making for some epic photos.

We spent the second half of our day into the night at Lakeland Orchard which was a quick 15 minute drive away. The admission here is $19.95/Saturdays and Sundays for Ages 3+ or save $2 when you go on any Thursday OR Friday OR Columbus Day. Admission here includes: a Pick-Your-Own Card (cannot be used to pick tulips) to pick in-season produce during your visit while supplies last and access to all Rides, Attractions, and Live Entertainment.

What is unique here is the mix of rides and classic fall activities, plus they have a pretty awesome train ride through a Halloween Light trail. The Halloween Light show train sells out fast and it is best to reserve your timed ticket online for $4/pp. The Orchard has a separate line for those who have not reserved a ticket that allows you to ride on a first come first serve basis when there is room, but be prepared to WAIT.

Tips and Recs before you go:

  • For the best deal, purchase your tickets online before you go
  • We did both in one day, but you can easily spend a day at just one, both have evening attractions so it is helpful to browse the activities and events online to plan out your day
  • Both are fairly stroller friendly, but mostly dirt paths
  • For Roba Family Farms, if you are picking pumpkins I would make it the last activity so you can carry them right to your car
  • Showtimes are posted on Roba Family Farms website ahead of time
  • BYO food and purchase there
  • If you are visiting both, I would have reversed our order because there is a lot more to do at Roba, but catching the Halloween Light show at Lakeland was a highlight.
  • If you have to pick one, Roba is filled with more activities and entertainment and Lakeland’s highlights are the carousel, scrambler and Halloween train ride.
