We will have “quiet spaces” for breaks, and a few trains open with museum staff present to answer questions. Sensory Hour attendees are welcome to stay after the Museum opens to the public at 10 AM, but please note that the sensory-friendly environment will not be maintained, and can be very busy. *Please note that pre-registration for ALL attendees is required. We’re turning Hamilton Hall into an indoor backyard party on Saturday, March 14 with hands-on art, music, games, and plenty of ways to burn off some energy. Hop in a moon bounce — toddlers can jump in Meeting Room West, while school-age kids bounce it out in the Southwest Pavilion. Create a colorful spin art frisbee — choose your paints, give it a whirl, and watch your design come to life. Make radiant, sun-catching artwork with facilitators from Project Joy, exploring color, light, and shape in a playful creative workshop. Feel the rhythm with an interactive percussion performance from the graduate percussion group at University of Delaware, complete with instrument show-and-tell and a chance for kids to try child-safe percussion instruments. Kids catch and release weekend

Search for the McKaig Pot-of-Gold – S’mores & Bonfire

McKaig Nature Education Center 889 Croton Rd, Wayne

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear, the event is rain or shine. Bring smiles, flashlights and maybe something to sit on. There will be a bonfire or 2 in a fire containers at the event. We will provide roasting sticks, s'more kits along with wet wipes. Unleash your inner explorer and join the McKaig "Search for the Pot o' Gold"! Families and friends are invited to embark on a treasure hunt adventure on Saturday, March 14th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Our mischievous Leprechaun has hidden his treasure, and we need your help to find it! Follow St. Patrick's footsteps using your emailed treasure map (with instructions!) to discover the pot o' gold hidden somewhere in the woods. The hunt will take about 45 minutes, and when you find the pot, you'll receive some "gold" coins of your own! After your successful quest, gather around our roaring bonfire for classic s'mores and share your discoveries with fellow adventurers. McKaig members can join the fun for just $24 per group of 4, while non-members can participate for $28 per group. Don't miss this exciting and treasure-filled evening!
