  • Sights in Sand: An American Road Trip

Peddler's Village 2400 Street Road, New Hope, PA, United States

Buckle up and unfold your map! The giant sand sculptures are returning this summer. For the fifth consecutive year, Peddler’s Village will present a Village-wide sand sculpture display created by world-renowned sand artists. “Sights in Sand: An American Road Trip” will celebrate the iconic landmarks and history of our nation, now in its 250th year. It’s not every day you can travel across the county in just an hour or two (by foot, no less!) to experience the five major regions–Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, and West–and the fantastic features of each. But this year at Peddler’s Village, we’ve made it possible! You’ll see the Statue of Liberty, the Kennedy Space Center, Mount Rushmore, the Golden Gate Bridge, and more. This free display is open to the public and will be on view to Village pedestrians through August 31. In addition to viewing the sand sculptures, visitors can shop at 60 specialty store and boutiques, dine indoors or outside, and enjoy spectacular gardens and landscaping. Families can enjoy Giggleberry Fair, the indoor fun center. Spacious overnight accommodations are available at the Golden Plough Inn.

Come join us for this family-favorite First Friday as we celebrate the agricultural community in Oxford! We are so grateful to our presenting sponsor for this event: Hostetter Grain. The roads will be closed in downtown for this First Friday as 70+ tractors parade through town and then park along Third Street. We will have vendors, food trucks, and, of course, our amazing downtown businesses. FREE PARKING for this event thanks to American Mushroom. This year we are pleased to have Cedar Knoll once again sponsor the Straw Bale Throwing Contest along Locust Street. Start lifting weights now to get into tip-top shape! We wanna see those biceps put to the test. We also have a new event we are adding this year -- spouse calling! Think you've got what it takes to get your better half's attention from across the field? Put your lungs and your love to the test in our Spouse Calling Contest! Whether you've perfected a signature holler over decades of marriage or you're just naturally gifted at making someone come running, this is your moment to shine. Contestants will step up to the mic and let loose their best, most creative call for their spouse — and our judges (and the crowd!) will decide whose call is most likely to actually work. Expect plenty of laughs! All are welcome to compete: married, partnered, or just really loud. As a special addition for America's 250th, we will be having Ben Franklin stop by and read the Declaration of Independence. Kids can learn about this important document and get their photo taken next to an oversized Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights. Finally, we will have LIVE MUSIC by DENISE AND MAX in the Neff Parking Lot!
