Join the Friends of Ridley Creek State Park trail crew on their monthly trail maintenance excursions where they care for park trails, remove invasive plants and other fun outdoor activities that greatly help our state parks. Enjoy some social time as well with others who care about natural resources and a healthy environment. The friends trail crew meets on the first Saturday of every month from 0900-1200 hrs and is open to all interested folks. Registration not required.

Join us for Peach Festival on Saturday & Sunday, August 1 & 2 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., a peach lover’s paradise with plenty of peachy treats, live entertainment, and scenic strolls through our summer gardens (with sand sculptures!). Peddler’s Village shops will be open until 8 p.m. on Saturday. Admission and parking are free.

First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg has offered preschool services for 55 years! Come celebrate this amazing anniversary with our Family Fun Fest! This event is FREE to all attendees. There will be bounce houses for the kids, balloon animals/art, face painting, games with prizes, and more. Free food includes hotdogs, pretzels, chips, cotton candy, water, and slushies. Our parking lot will be roped off, allowing for more fun space, but convenient parking is available at the Methodist/ACTS Covenant church, Bachman-Snyder Funeral Home, and St. Michael's Lutheran Church farther down East Main Street.

Join your DCNR Park Naturalist for a special hands on exhibit along the Multi-Use Trail about owls. Learn about how owls are well adapted as important nocturnal raptors that keep rodent populations in check. Discover which species can be found here in Pennsylvania while taking a close up look at taxidermy, skulls, talons, pellets and photos of these beautiful birds. Registration not required.

To celebrate America's 250th birthday, Kutztown Day in the Kutztown Park, the annual celebration of the founding of Kutztown, focuses on the Kutztown area's role in the colonial era and the early days of our country. A special history trail featuring photos and facts about 18th century Kutztown winds through a playground for the kids. Several bands will play music throughout the day. Bring a picnic lunch or purchase from several food vendors. Games and contests will entertain everyone. The day ends with a spectacular fireworks display.

Whether you've perfected a signature holler over decades of marriage or you're just naturally gifted at making someone come running, this is your moment to shine. Contestants will step up to the mic and let loose their best, most creative call for their spouse — and our judges (and the crowd!) will decide whose call is most likely to actually work. Expect plenty of laughs! All are welcome to compete: married, partnered, or just really loud. As a special addition for America's 250th, we will be having Ben Franklin stop by and read the Declaration of Independence. Kids can learn about this important document and get their photo taken next to an oversized Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights. Finally, we will have LIVE MUSIC by DENISE AND MAX in the Neff Parking Lot!
