Set in a mythical “once upon a time” sort of land, Shrek the Musical is the story of a hulking green ogre who, after being mocked and feared his entire life by anything that crosses his path, retreats to an ugly green swamp to exist in happy isolation. Suddenly, a gang of homeless fairy-tale characters (Pinocchio, Cinderella, the Three Pigs, you name it) raid his sanctuary, saying they’ve been evicted by the vertically challenged Lord Farquaad. So Shrek strikes a deal: I’ll get your homes back, if you give me my home back! But when Shrek and Farquaad meet, the Lord strikes a deal of his own: He’ll give the fairy-tale characters their homes back, if Shrek rescues Princess Fiona. Shrek obliges, yet finds something appealing–something strange and different–about this pretty princess. He likes her. A lot. But why does she always run off when the sun sets?

Kick off the holidays with sparkle and song at Uptown Studio’s beloved Holiday Cheer Concert!  This festive annual tradition features fresh takes on classic holiday favorites—plus pop and R&B hits of the season—all performed by the incredibly talented young performers training right here at Uptown. You’ll be wowed by students from The Uptown Singers, The Singing Artist, The Singing Academy, and our youngest rising stars, The Broadway Kiddos. Come cheer them on and get into the holiday spirit with a high-energy show that’s full of heart, harmony, and holiday magic! Make a night of it! The concert will wrap up in plenty of time to walk over and catch the 2025 West Chester Christmas Parade, starting at 7:00 PM! This year’s parade features more marching bands, dazzling floats, show-stopping performances—and a special appearance by  Santa himself. It’s a hometown tradition you won’t want to miss!
