Our 60th Annual Duryea Day Antique & Classic Car & Truck Show and Flea Market will be held Saturday, September 5, from 9 am to 3 pm at Boyertown Community Park. Hundreds of vehicles will be on display throughout the park, and shuttle service is available between the Park and Museum through the duration of the event. Pre-registration and day of show registration for show vehicles available—all makes, models, and years are welcome. Spectator admission is $10 for adults, free for ages 12 & under. FOR ALL AGES Connect your family with the outdoors on this fun, interactive nature exploration designed to spark curiosity and wonder. Using simple tools like magnifying glasses, you will uncover the Arboretum’s plants, animals, and other seasonal highlights that bring the woodland trails to life. About your guide: Barbara Frank is a PA Master Naturalist, a Tyler-trained docent, a yoga teacher, an artist, and a true lover of nature in all of its manifestations. She leads tours for children and adults. PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED The program is best suited for elementary school-aged children accompanied by an adult. Family and siblings of any age are welcome. Check in at the Visitor Center, where you’ll meet your guide. As with any walk at Tyler, sturdy shoes are suggested. PLEASE NOTE: Strollers may not be ideal on some of our trails. We recommend a carrier if you plan to bring an infant or young child. Weather or other factors may adjust the day’s topic, but nature will always shine through! In case of inclement weather, the tour will move indoors. MEMBERS: FREE NON-MEMBERS: $18 per adult; $10 per child ages 3-17; children two and under are free and do not need to be registered. Preschool Picassos Calling all parents and caregivers with preschool-aged children who love to create art! Happening the first Saturday of every month, Preschool Picassos provides young visitors with a unique art experience when we teach children various science-based techniques with their caregivers. As children experiment and explore, they will not only learn to be a part of the conversation around Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM), but they will create some unique works of art along the way! Butterflies get all the attention, whereas the moths of the night are just as beautiful and whimsical as their daytime cousins! In this after dark adventure, we'll setup a moth observation station to provide a rare chance to meet these nocturnal beauties up close. As the moths gather, we'll take a closer look at the different species and demonstrate how to identify and observe these delicate insects in a safe and respectful way. Throughout the night, join in discussions about light pollution and the impacts our brightly lit homes can impact moth behavior, navigation, and survival. Every day from September 7 through October 26 An autumn tradition continues! For six fun-filled weeks, over 100 scarecrows line the brick pathways of our autumn-tinted Village. Some are inspired by famous characters, some are humorous, some are scary – but all of them are carefully handmade by Philly-area residents and organizations. The display is free and on view every day through October 26. Guests can vote for their favorite scarecrows via the Peddler’s Village mobile app. Creators of the winning scarecrows in each category win prizes. Scarecrow Festival September 19 & 20 A weekend of fall family fun including scarecrow-making workshops, pumpkin painting, live musical entertainment, and children’s activities.
