Special events will be held for children on Saturday including the Pedal Tractor Pull, Harvest Rides, and other events for children including Pumpkin Face Painting and a Barrel Train Ride. Rough and Tumble equipment will be in operation from steam trains, gas engines, and the model shops to steam traction engines, and more.     Attention all young heroes! Join us Saturday, October 10 from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM as we learn all about safety and the heroes that serve our community! Fire Smart – Safety Day is presented by Rush Order Tees/Ninja Transfers. This event is free to attend with zoo admission. Community Passes will not be accepted. As always, First responders receive free zoo admission. Current police officers, firefighters, and EMT personnel must show valid credentials at the admission counter. Fire and police badges, identification cards, and responders in uniform are accepted only if accompanied by photo ID. Families attending the event with police officers, firefighters, and EMT personnel will receive a discounted admission rate of $5.00. Discounted family admission rate is only available at the gate.

  • Harvest Fair

    Celebrate fall in Trappe at a family-friendly Harvest Fair held on the grounds of the Muhlenberg House and the Speaker’s House. Enjoy live music and a square dance by Jann Glider with Meadow Lark, delicious food, 18th century trade demonstrations, colonial kids’ games, and locally-made artisanal wares. Visit the Muhlenberg House for tours led by interpreters in period clothing stationed in each room. At the Speaker's House, explore the newly restored and fully furnished home of Frederick Muhlenberg and stroll through an authentic Pennsylvania German kitchen garden to learn about heirloom plants and raised-bed gardening. Visit the kitchen to learn about colonial cooking and food preservation, including sauerkraut making. Free parking will be available at St. Luke’s Fellowship Church, 200 W. Each participant will receive 6 cupcakes (3 vanilla & 3 chocolate), pre-filled buttercream piping bags with stainless steel piping tips, decorations and a box. Dana Schwartz, instructor & owner of Schwartz & Sprinkles Cakes will walk everyone through fun, Halloween designs sharing her knowledge, tips & tricks along the way! (Parent assistance is optional if space permits.) Tickets: All event purchases are final – no refunds or exchanges. Tickets cannot be transferred to a different date. One ticket per cupcake decorator. Tickets may not be shared. One seat per ticket. Adults are encouraged (but not required) to purchase a ticket. Adults without tickets are not guaranteed a seat.
