Touch-A-Truck Events

This hands-on, educational experience is where children can explore, climb, and touch various vehicles such as fire trucks, police cars, construction machinery and emergency response vehicles. These events provide opportunities for kids to interact with community service personnel and learn about the vehicles that protect and serve their communities.

Newtown Township Parks & Recreation Department

Date: Tuesday 4/15

Christ Lutheran Church

Date: Saturday 4/26

Hands on House

Cost: Pay-what-you-wish; Suggested donation $10/pp

Info: Explore exciting careers in construction, public safety, farming and more. Meet heroes in the community and engage in hands-on activities. Choose a desired amount at check-in on the day of the event. No Pre-registration required. The donation supports year-round experiences, exhibits and programs provided at the museum. Donations of $10 or more will receive a souvenir for each child in attendance.

Merion Tribute House

Junior League of Reading

Date: Sunday 4/27

Cost: FREE for kids 12 & under; $11.30/Ages 13+; $5/Phunland

Info: Ticketed event, vehicles, vendors, community organizations, Games, crafts, bounce house, entertainment and more. Food and Beverages will be at the concessions stands. Proceeds will support the Junior League of Reading and its initiatives focused on women’s leadership and youth empowerment.

Oxford Area Chamber of Commerce

Date: Sunday 4/27

Time: 12pm-3pm

Location: 900 West Locust Street, Oxford

Cost: FREE

Info: Explore, Climb, and touch vehicles. A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Oxford Area Chamber of Commerce. 12-12:30pm will be sensory-friendly and operators will refrain from flashing their lights or blowing their horns. Rain date is 5/4 12-3pm

Gross School Bur Service, Inc

Date: Saturday 5/3

Time: 11am-3pm

Cost: $3/pp or $5/family OR Bring a non-perishable food item for the pantry. All proceeds will go to the Coventry Food Pantry

Info: In addition to getting up close and personal with trucks and their operators, Brick and Blaze pizza truck will be there. Swartz Farm and Roadside Stand will have barrel cars from 11am-1pm, Bluey visits from 12-2pm, Games Face painting, crafts, raffles and more.

East Pikeland Township

Info:  This family-friendly event gives kids (and kids at heart) the chance to explore police cars, fire trucks, construction vehicles, and more! ring the whole family and get up close to the vehicles that keep our community moving including fire, police, public works, and more! There will be food trucks and interactive displays as well. There will be photo opportunities, interactive displays, and plenty of excitement!

Doylestown Township

Info: Get up close and personal with a variety of awesome vehicles, including fire trucks, police cars, construction equipment, and more. Climb aboard, honk the horns, and explore the machinery that helps keep our community running. Meet-and-Greet: Interact with local heroes like firefighters, police officers, and other professionals.
Photo Opportunities: Snap memorable pictures with the vehicles.
Kid-Friendly Activities: Enjoy face painting, games, and giveaways.
Food and Drinks: Delicious snacks and beverages will be available for purchase.
This event is free and open to the public! Don’t miss this chance to engage with your community and experience the thrill of sitting in the driver’s seat of your favorite vehicles. During 11am and 12pm a special sensory hour with limited noise is held for those with sensory-sensitive children.

East Pennsboro Township Parks & Recreation

Don’t worry about lunch – food trucks will be on-site too!

Lower Gwynedd Township Police Department

Info: Hatboro-Horsham High School’s Hatters Student Union will be hosting their 2nd Annual Touch-A-Truck event, including large trucks, small trucks, and everything in between! During this interactive, hands-on event, children will be able to explore all of the different vehicles they see in the community! We will also have children’s activities, face painters, concessions, music, and more! While you meet our community helpers and heroes, hang out with your child’s favorite Marvel / DC heroes! Photo ops and more!

Charlann Farms

Borough of Wyomissing Parks and Recreation Department

Info: The Public Works Department will showcase their fleet of snowplows, tree-cutting machines, and more, giving a glimpse into the essential work that often goes unseen. dding to the excitement, local construction companies will roll in with their heavy-duty marvels, including concrete mixers, front-end loaders, and other awe-inspiring equipment. Even the military will bring their specialized vehicles, providing a unique opportunity to appreciate the craftsmanship and ingenuity behind their design.  Families can mingle with the people who keep Wyomissing safe, clean, and thriving while indulging in delicious treats from on-site food trucks. 

Chester County Balloon Festival

Quakertown Memorial Park

Info: The Parks & Recreation Department is excited to announce they will be hosting a Touch a Truck event on Thursday, June 26th from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in Memorial Park. From 2:00-2:30pm, will be a sensory-friendly half hour with no horns or sirens. This event will celebrate QuiNBy’s Playground turning 3 as well a recognizing all the departments and partners who helped make this playground a reality.Get ready to be amazed as a spectacular lineup of vehicles from all the Borough Utility Department, Police and Fire Departments, and many more roll in to captivate your imagination!Rita’s Italian Ice and The Brick will be there serving delicious treats!
