Sights in Sand: An American Road Trip

Peddler's Village 2400 Street Road, New Hope

Buckle up and unfold your map! The giant sand sculptures are returning this summer. For the fifth consecutive year, Peddler’s Village will present a Village-wide sand sculpture display created by world-renowned sand artists. “Sights in Sand: An American Road Trip” will celebrate the iconic landmarks and history of our nation, now in its 250th year. It’s not every day you can travel across the county in just an hour or two (by foot, no less!) to experience the five major regions–Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, and West–and the fantastic features of each. But this year at Peddler’s Village, we’ve made it possible! You’ll see the Statue of Liberty, the Kennedy Space Center, Mount Rushmore, the Golden Gate Bridge, and more. This free display is open to the public and will be on view to Village pedestrians through August 31. In addition to viewing the sand sculptures, visitors can shop at 60 specialty store and boutiques, dine indoors or outside, and enjoy spectacular gardens and landscaping. Families can enjoy Giggleberry Fair, the indoor fun center. Spacious overnight accommodations are available at the Golden Plough Inn.

While we welcome painters of any age, this painting is recommended for ages 6 & up. We use acrylic paint in our events. It is non-toxic, but does stain fabric. We provide aprons for guests to wear, but we recommend wearing clothing you wouldn’t mind getting a little paint on. All Ages classes are often made up of groups of kids and adults! ARRIVE: Please arrive about 10-15 minutes before scheduled painting time to check-in, get smocked, and settle in. Feel free to bring snacks and drinks. Late arrivals may not be allowed to paint, and forfeit their registration fee. Stuffed Animal Sleepover (Children’s Event)

On Friday, August 14th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, drop off your stuffed animal or favorite toy at the front desk of the Chester County History Center.* We’ll take them on an adventure through our museum, even into the secret spaces that the public is usually not allowed to go! Don’t worry about missing anything; we’ll share pictures of every adventure through email, so you can check in with your friend and see what they’re up to. At 7:00PM, after we’ve tucked the stuffies into bed, we’ll read them a bedtime story that you can join in by Zoom to read along with us! This is a wonderful opportunity to introduce little ones to the joy of reuniting after a short period of separation. On Saturday, August 15th from 10:00am to 1:00pm, come pick up your friend and enjoy a scrapbooking craft of their adventures.  Family Movie Night is Back!  We have another great lineup planned for this summer's Family Movie Night series: Aug 15: Zootopia 2 Sept 19: The Minecraft Movie Oct 10: Wicked As always, feel free to bring your lawn chairs, beach towels and favorite snacks down to borough hall every movie night this summer.
