The Gay Street Open-Air Market returns for 2026 from Friday, May 1st to Sunday, September 27th!  The Open-Air Market gives residents and visitors more space to shop, eat, and explore town. Four blocks of Gay Street are closed to vehicles every weekend, transforming into a pedestrian-friendly destination that is perfect for outdoor dining, boutique shopping, and leisurely strolls.  Important Details:• Where: Gay Street (from Matlack Street to Darlington Street)• When: Every weekend (Friday morning through Monday morning) from May 1st – September 27th• Website: www.downtownwestchester.com/openairmarket• Parking: www.downtownwestchester.com/parking  General Notes:• The streets are closed from roughly Friday at 8am to Monday at 8am.• Gay Street will also be closed to vehicles on Monday holidays and will start early on Thursdays ahead of Friday holidays.• Construction for new bollards is underway at several intersections on Gay Street. Some areas may be impacted on Friday mornings/afternoons, but should be open by Friday evenings. The goal is to have this project completed by June.• This event is rain or shine. Shopping/dining in the street will most likely be unavailable until the bad weather passes, but Gay Street will remain closed.• Due to Facebook's limitations, we couldn’t list every single date the Open-Air Market runs for. PUMPKINLAND 2026 Dates – September 19th thru November 1st This Halloween display of colorful cartoon characters, scarecrows, hay hutch, & over ten tons of pumpkins is always a hit! DAYTIME HAYRIDES – $10 2026 Dates – September 19th thru November 1st (Everyday) Kids will adore a daytime hayride through friendly woods. Appropriate for all ages. MAZES – $5 Includes Cornstalk Maze, Halloween Funhouse, and Casper’s Castle. Combo Ticket for Daytime Hayride and Mazes – $13 Children 2 and under can participate in all events for free with a paid adult.
