Scarecrows in the Village

Peddler's Village 2400 Street Road, New Hope

Every day from September 7 through October 26 An autumn tradition continues! For six fun-filled weeks, over 100 scarecrows line the brick pathways of our autumn-tinted Village. Some are inspired by famous characters, some are humorous, some are scary – but all of them are carefully handmade by Philly-area residents and organizations. The display is free and on view every day through October 26. Guests can vote for their favorite scarecrows via the Peddler’s Village mobile app. Creators of the winning scarecrows in each category win prizes.   Scarecrow Festival September 19 & 20 A weekend of fall family fun including scarecrow-making workshops, pumpkin painting, live musical entertainment, and children’s activities. Painting with a Twist Jenkintown 209 Leedom St, Jenkintown

While we welcome painters of any age, this painting is recommended for ages 6 & up. We use acrylic paint in our events. It is non-toxic, but does stain fabric. We provide aprons for guests to wear, but we recommend wearing clothing you wouldn’t mind getting a little paint on. All Ages classes are often made up of groups of kids and adults! ARRIVE: Please arrive about 10-15 minutes before scheduled painting time to check-in, get smocked, and settle in. Feel free to bring snacks and drinks. Late arrivals may not be allowed to paint, and forfeit their registration fee. SEATING REQUESTS: If you’re coming with others, but making reservations separately, give us your group’s name or point person in the Special Request box. We'll seat you together! *Adults who are just helping/watching do not need to reserve a seat, but please let us know if you plan to stay. LOCATION: 209 Leedom Street in Jenkintown Borough, across the street from the Fire House and Municipal Parking Lot. The Gay Street Open-Air Market returns for 2026 from Friday, May 1st to Sunday, September 27th!  The Open-Air Market gives residents and visitors more space to shop, eat, and explore town. Four blocks of Gay Street are closed to vehicles every weekend, transforming into a pedestrian-friendly destination that is perfect for outdoor dining, boutique shopping, and leisurely strolls.  Important Details:• Where: Gay Street (from Matlack Street to Darlington Street)• When: Every weekend (Friday morning through Monday morning) from May 1st – September 27th• Website: www.downtownwestchester.com/openairmarket• Parking: www.downtownwestchester.com/parking  General Notes:• The streets are closed from roughly Friday at 8am to Monday at 8am.• Gay Street will also be closed to vehicles on Monday holidays and will start early on Thursdays ahead of Friday holidays.• Construction for new bollards is underway at several intersections on Gay Street. Some areas may be impacted on Friday mornings/afternoons, but should be open by Friday evenings. The goal is to have this project completed by June.• This event is rain or shine.
