The 2024 Rose Tree Summer Festival runs June 12 – August 11, with evening concerts Wednesdays–Sundays on most weeks. Free concerts in Rose Tree Park’s scenic outdoor amphitheater have been a popular Delco tradition for more than four decades! Take in top-notch entertainment of all kinds, from Classical to Cajun, Motown to Broadway, Doo Wop to Rock & Pop, tribute shows and everything in between. Check out the concert schedule here. The Kutztown Folk Festival is the oldest continuously operated folklife festival in America. The day begins with a parade of bikes, strollers and wagons decked out in red, white and blue, leaving from Chestnutwold Elementary at 10am. We will wind our way through the neighborhood and end up at Elwell Field for the “best-decorated” contest, field events, the Big Splash, and lots of good food for purchase, including Owl’s Water Ice! Learn about the different kinds of troops who fought for America’s freedom during the Revolutionary War including the militia, Continentals, Dragoons, and Riflemen. Guided Boone House tours will be offered regularly throughout the day, as well as blacksmithing and gunsmithing demonstrations. The East Cheltenham 4th of July Parade will kick off at 11:30 from Cheltenham Elementary School at Front and Ashmead and winds through Rowland Park before heading up Ryers Ave, down Central Ave, and into the park. Spectators are asked not to sit curbside or in the street, to provide as much room as possible for the procession.

Spend a summer afternoon playing games at the mills! Visitors are invited to play Croquet, Graces, Ring Toss and many more old fashioned lawn and tabletop games. The Athletic Baseball Club of Philadelphia will play an interactive game of “Town Ball” followed by a full game using 1860s rules, uniforms and equipment.
Kids Club art class is a 1 hour and 15 minute art class for kids ages 6 to 18 and up. It takes place from 12:30pm-1:45pm Make Coffee Filter Art! When registering for kids club, please register only the child who will be attending. Parents may only accompany their child provided there is extra space but should not register themselves. Join park staff at Wayne’s Woods Picnic Area to learn about the life cycles, habitats and benefits of moths, bats, and fireflies! “Moth-ers”, bat enthusiasts, and citizen scientists of all ages and abilities are welcome.
