Did you know that swim lessons for children can boost their confidence and their cognitive development at an early age while learning a new life skill?
We are currently enrolled at the Goldfish Swim School in Oaks which offers lessons for infants up to 12 years old.
Joining was an easy decision after seeing their flexible schedule options, tropical environment and teaching approach.
Emma looks forward to her weekly lessons which are offered year-round so anytime is a great time to sign up!
If you are interested, but not sure where to start, check out their online swim assessment here. By answering just two questions, their age and swim experience, you will get a recommended class level. Once you are signed up, all you will need is a bathing suit and towel. That’s it! They have showers, changing rooms, a blow dryer station, plus my daughter’s favorite…snacks! If you forget anything they have an awesome retail shop offering everything from swim diapers to goggles and more.
A typical class is 30 minutes and has an instructor to student ration of 4:1 or 6:1 for babies. When the class starts, your swimmer will go to the designated lane for their lesson to meet their instructor. The pool is kept at a warm 90 degrees and you can observe from their comfy chairs in the waiting are that have floor to ceiling glass window, making it easy to encourage your child and wave hello!
Thanks to their new pricing structure, lessons are just $30/class which are held weekly.
Miss one? That’s okay, you can make up a session for another time (up to 12 make up sessions/per year).
When you enroll you also get a few goodies! Memberships come with:
- Designated free Family Swim times
- T-Shirt or Swim Diaper
- Reusable swim bag
- Discounts for siblings or multiple children within the same family
- Monthly celebration prizes & events for the entire family to enjoy
- Discounts for multiple lessons per week
Although the group classes have up to 4 children in each, the instructors take the time with each one individually to work with their specific skillset. Progress is tracked on the app and in the pool with deck supervisors. Knowing the lessons are catered to your specific child and their needs while getting to be social with other students is another aspect I love about Goldfish. They do also offer semi-private and private lessons as well throughout the year dependent on availability. Another awesome feature is the awards for milestones and achievements. On their first lesson they receive a certificate and ribbon honoring their first class.
Thinking about signing up, but not sure if you want to commit yet? There are a few ways you can try them out or get started. Your first lesson is free, call them to get your trial scheduled. Casual Swim lessons are offered for those who can’t commit to a specific day or time of the week and you can pay as you go. They also hold Family Swim sessions on select days and times for just $5/swimmer or $15/Family (up to 5 people). No pre-registration required and this is FREE for members.
Give them a call or learn more here, their golden years are here!
