Join McKaig Nature Education Center for a FREE "Opt Outside" event on Friday, November 29th, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. • Gather your friends and family and explore over 3¼ miles of serene woodland trails during daylight hours. Our staff will be on hand from 11a-2p at the "Beach" (map location White 21) to welcome you and lead exciting activities: • Nature Scavenger Hunt for Kids: Little explorers can embark on a fun adventure to discover hidden treasures in the woods! Register to download the scavenger hunt. • Cozy Bonfire: Warm up by a crackling bonfire and a s'more, perfect for a crisp autumn day. • While the event is free, donations to our Student and Scout Projects fund are greatly appreciated and help us continue our vital work. Walking down Main Street under the lit wreaths and trees feels like one is walking into a Hallmark movie, and this “hallmark” event has been an Ephrata tradition for over 100 years. 2025 will see some exciting additions to this family-fun event that will make even the Scroogiest grown-up believe in Santa!

Visitors of all ages will enjoy watching our 10 trains glide through five carefully constructed rail lines. Created by the Ware Model Railroading Club, these layouts feature handcrafted local landmarks including Ware Mansion, Walmoore Dairy Farm and Oxford Presbyterian Church. Trains include both O-gauge and HO-gauge models. Plus, don’t miss the Garden-gauge train running outside, around the Ware Presbyterian Village flagpole (weather permitting).Lunch, snacks, coffee and other drinks are available at the historic Ware House Café. Families, join us for a drawing adventure as we bring the world of Sneaky Sasquatch on Apple Arcade to life on iPad. Sasquatch is on a mission and needs your help creating fun holiday parties. You’ll use drawing tools to add decorations and customize Sasquatch’s disguise with stickers, all while learning new skills. Devices provided.
