Beginning June 1 and continuing through August 31, Peddler’s Village will be presenting “Sights in Sand: An American Road Trip”—a FREE village-wide sand sculpture display celebrating the natural wonders, national landmarks, and history of our nation’s 250th year. With your map at hand (available in the Visitor & Event Center), start your cross-country sightseeing journey to see how world-renowned sand artists have transformed iconic American landmarks into sculptures; including, the Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, the Golden Gate Bridge, and more. Kids will enjoy play-all-day sandboxes and a scavenger hunt where they can win a kid-friendly prize! (while supplies last) The Artists Team Sandtastic Dean Arscott, Karen Fralich, Dan Belcher, Brian Turnbough, Andy Daily Team Sandtastic is based around the Tampa Bay Area, and creates 100 to 150 unique sculptures a year. With a core team of full-time members and associate sculptors around the globe, they create high quality sand sculptures worldwide. Saturdays, June 13 through September 5 10 am to 4 pm Step into the past this summer at the Speaker’s House with our Living History Saturdays series, kicking off on Flag Day weekend. From Flag Day through Labor Day weekend, the grounds will come alive every Saturday with engaging, hands-on demonstrations that bring 18th-century life into vivid focus. Visitors can explore the daily experiences of Revolutionary War soldiers, witness traditional hearth cooking, and learn skilled crafts like tape weaving and wood turning. Additional demonstrations include historic laundry practices, trades of the period, and other immersive activities that reveal the rhythms of early American life. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply looking for a fun weekend outing, Living History Saturdays offer a dynamic and educational experience for all ages. The Gay Street Open-Air Market returns for 2026 from Friday, May 1st to Sunday, September 27th!  The Open-Air Market gives residents and visitors more space to shop, eat, and explore town. Four blocks of Gay Street are closed to vehicles every weekend, transforming into a pedestrian-friendly destination that is perfect for outdoor dining, boutique shopping, and leisurely strolls.  Important Details:• Where: Gay Street (from Matlack Street to Darlington Street)• When: Every weekend (Friday morning through Monday morning) from May 1st – September 27th• Website: www.downtownwestchester.com/openairmarket• Parking: www.downtownwestchester.com/parking  General Notes:• The streets are closed from roughly Friday at 8am to Monday at 8am.• Gay Street will also be closed to vehicles on Monday holidays and will start early on Thursdays ahead of Friday holidays.• Construction for new bollards is underway at several intersections on Gay Street. Some areas may be impacted on Friday mornings/afternoons, but should be open by Friday evenings. The goal is to have this project completed by June.• This event is rain or shine. Shopping/dining in the street will most likely be unavailable until the bad weather passes, but Gay Street will remain closed.• Due to Facebook's limitations, we couldn’t list every single date the Open-Air Market runs for. Here's the scoop! The Vintage Candy Shop is hosting a fundraiser for Lancaster Public Library, and we're all invited! On Friday, July 24, 10% of all candy, coffee, and ice cream purchases will be donated back to the library. Enjoy a delicious treat (or two!) while supporting the library and a local business! Join our partners at PlayIn Time Productions for a weekly, interactive musical program geared toward children ages newborn to five and their parents or caregivers. Instructor Virginia will guide you and your child through warming up their bodies with movement, practicing listening skills using activities like freeze dances, and jamming to classic and new tunes. PlayIn Time’s Music Circles build musical connection and community through shared fun. Get ready to dance, jam, and learn!  Things to know:  Classes will run on Friday mornings from 10:15am – 11:00am, June 19th through August 14th (no class on July 3)  Join for the whole series or just for one or two sessions. Registration is available on PlayIn Time’s website, linked below.  If you have them, you are welcome to bring your own shakers, sticks, or other percussive instruments.  Classes will be held outside on the Great Lawn so bring a blanket or lawn pad to sit on.  Please note that, while the program is geared toward younger ages, siblings ages 6 and older are welcome and can attend free of charge.  register now

We’re back with another Minis and Music Family Swim event! Join us for an afternoon of music, movement, and splashing fun:) We’re kicking off the event with a guided music activity led by Miss Jennifer from Community Music School, where little ones will explore rhythm, movement, and interactive songs designed just for our minis. After the music session, families will jump in for a fun-filled family swim together in the pool! It’s the perfect way to combine creativity, connection, and water safety in one exciting event. What kind of critters come awake after dark? Join educators for a nighttime investigation into the world of nocturnal invertebrates as we celebrate National Moth Week! This citizen science program is held worldwide and celebrates the beauty, life cycles, and habitats of moths. We will take an up-close look at these often overlooked, but incredibly important, animals and do a survey of nocturnal insects at the Norristown Farm Park! This program is $5.00 per person.
