Beginning June 1 and continuing through August 31, Peddler’s Village will be presenting “Sights in Sand: An American Road Trip”—a FREE village-wide sand sculpture display celebrating the natural wonders, national landmarks, and history of our nation’s 250th year. With your map at hand (available in the Visitor & Event Center), start your cross-country sightseeing journey to see how world-renowned sand artists have transformed iconic American landmarks into sculptures; including, the Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, the Golden Gate Bridge, and more. Kids will enjoy play-all-day sandboxes and a scavenger hunt where they can win a kid-friendly prize! (while supplies last) The Artists Team Sandtastic Dean Arscott, Karen Fralich, Dan Belcher, Brian Turnbough, Andy Daily Team Sandtastic is based around the Tampa Bay Area, and creates 100 to 150 unique sculptures a year. With a core team of full-time members and associate sculptors around the globe, they create high quality sand sculptures worldwide. With over 30 years of experience, Team Sandtastic creates one-of-a-kind works of art for corporate events, weddings, grand openings, festivals, advertising and sponsorships, sporting events, and more. Saturdays, June 13 through September 5 10 am to 4 pm Step into the past this summer at the Speaker’s House with our Living History Saturdays series, kicking off on Flag Day weekend. From Flag Day through Labor Day weekend, the grounds will come alive every Saturday with engaging, hands-on demonstrations that bring 18th-century life into vivid focus. Visitors can explore the daily experiences of Revolutionary War soldiers, witness traditional hearth cooking, and learn skilled crafts like tape weaving and wood turning. Additional demonstrations include historic laundry practices, trades of the period, and other immersive activities that reveal the rhythms of early American life. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply looking for a fun weekend outing, Living History Saturdays offer a dynamic and educational experience for all ages. The Gay Street Open-Air Market returns for 2026 from Friday, May 1st to Sunday, September 27th!  The Open-Air Market gives residents and visitors more space to shop, eat, and explore town. Four blocks of Gay Street are closed to vehicles every weekend, transforming into a pedestrian-friendly destination that is perfect for outdoor dining, boutique shopping, and leisurely strolls.  Important Details:• Where: Gay Street (from Matlack Street to Darlington Street)• When: Every weekend (Friday morning through Monday morning) from May 1st – September 27th• Website: www.downtownwestchester.com/openairmarket• Parking: www.downtownwestchester.com/parking  General Notes:• The streets are closed from roughly Friday at 8am to Monday at 8am.• Gay Street will also be closed to vehicles on Monday holidays and will start early on Thursdays ahead of Friday holidays.• Construction for new bollards is underway at several intersections on Gay Street. Some areas may be impacted on Friday mornings/afternoons, but should be open by Friday evenings. The goal is to have this project completed by June.• This event is rain or shine.
