When schools are closed, we are open! Keep curious young minds and busy bodies active with the Schuylkill Center Day-Off Camp. Trained educators lead students grades K-6 on unique nature-themed explorations that take advantage of our science lab, Discovery Center, and 365 acres of beautiful wooded trails, streams, and ponds. The theme for this week of spring break Day-Off Camp is Nature Detectives! Each day at camp will feature activities focused on finding and interpreting nature’s clues like tracks, scat, owl pellets, signs of new plant growth, beetle galleries and woodpecker holes in trees, and more! Come search for clues and unravel nature’s mysteries with us! Please bring a packed lunch, water bottle and an extra set of clothes. Wear weather-appropriate clothing that can get dirty. Space is limited to 30 campers. Sign up early to guarantee your spot. The "Don’t Get Fooled" Full Moon Hike April 1st, 2026 | 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM Think you’ve seen it all? Think again. This April Fools' Day, we’re heading into the McKaig Nature Education Center for a hike that’s 100% real (we promise), even if the date feels suspicious. With sunset at 7:25 PM and the moon rising at 7:19 PM, we’ll be timing our departure from the Roberts Elementary School parking lot just as the shadows start to play tricks on your eyes. Is that a tree stump or a woodland prankster? Only one way to find out!

We will discuss the origins of the ancient art of origami as well as the ecological importance of butterflies and Great Blue Herons. This event is designed for adults and children ages 8+. In this thrilling workshop, the world famous game of Dungeons and Dragons comes to life as participants create their own characters, design their own campaigns, and play them out live! STEMFest at the American Helicopter Museum is a family event dedicated to inspiring the next generation of innovators through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Hosted by the American Helicopter Museum and Education Center, STEMFest offers students and families hands-on learning experiences focused on aviation, engineering, and all things STEM. The event features two days of interactive exhibits, live demonstrations, science shows, food trucks, helicopter rides (additional fee), and tabletop activities led by community and industry professionals.
